In response to the state of emergency declared by Gov. Kemp, the Georgia Board of Nursing that permits licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and registered nurses (RNs) with active, unencumbered licenses from other states to practice in recognized health care systems in Georgia, including public health, during emergencies or disasters. Nurses holding an active, unrestricted multi-state license in any Nurse Licensure Compact State can practice in North Carolina at any time. Nurses holding an active, unrestricted single state license in a non-compact state can practice in North Carolina during periods of official disaster designation without obtaining licensure in North Carolina. You can volunteer through a volunteer organization such as the , an employing North Carolina healthcare system/facility, or other official Disaster Relief Organization.
